Critically acclaimed Asian-fusion restaurant LL Wine & Dine is to host celebrations for their 3rd Birthday this Sunday, in line with the last day of Chinese New Year. The kitschy hot spot has developed a cult following over the last few years – with regulars from Sydney’s elite like Baz Lurhman frequenting the bustling Potts Point venue.
The 3rd Birthday event is to be held at the restaurant located in the pedestrian-only precinct of Llankelly Laneway. With a colourful history of its own, the venue once housed an adult bookshop called ‘Ecstasy’ which fronted an illegal casino in the 1960′s and 70s. It has also served as a swingers club and strong hold steel room, known to the underground clientele as ‘Shop 8.’
In the past 3 years it has shrugged off its dubious past to become LL Wine & Dine, brain child of Barge 8 hospitality and a Potts Point favourite. With rooms such as ‘The Red Den Play Pen’ and ‘The Porn Wall Hall’ hinting not so subtly at the building’s eclectic heritage, and combining their Asian heritage; Barge brothers Matt, Tim & Chris successfully burst onto Sydney’s dining scene. With a critically acclaimed menu inspired by South East Asia, Japan and China, LL Wine & Dine has been voted in Top 10 Sydney Yum Cha Restaurants by the Sydney Magazine.
To celebrate their third successful year, LL Wine and Dine VIP guests will be entertained by traditional Dragon dancers, live music by The Myall High Club and treated to complimentary cocktails & canapés from the delicious LL Wine & Dine menu. The event will be open to the public from 2pm.
