New Cocktail Degustation Menu @ The Roosevelt

Created by head chef Brian Geraghty formerly of Quay, Bilson’s and Pied à Terre (two Michelin stars)

The Roosevelt’s Autumn cocktail degustation menu invites guests on a Hansel and Gretel-esque journey deep into the woods. The five-course menu will showcase the collaboration of theatre, cocktails and cuisine, using modern cooking techniques and the freshest seasonal products.

Starting with a lighter, picnic-style course and working its way into heartier dishes, this sensory experience sprinkles fruits of the forest, spiced delicacies and seasonal produce into a menu which will delight the palate, with every step complemented by an intricately matched cocktail.

Adding to the theme, the experience will be hosted in a section of The Roosevelt not visible from the main cocktail bar. Enter via a mirrored door into a room decked out with double-barreled communal dining tables featuring ice wells down the centre, seating no more than 36 guests.

The new menu comes under the direction of Head Chef, Brian Geraghty, who began his career at age 14. Learning his craft from some of the most well-known and influential names in modern cuisine, Geraghty has worked alongside Sean Connolly at Astral Restaurant and Shane Osborn at Two Michelin Star Pied à Terre. Upon moving back to Sydney’s shores, he held a position at Quay, followed by the role of Executive Sous Chef at Bilson’s.

The Roosevelt’s Degustation Dinners are run from Wednesday through to Saturday beginning at 7.30pm at the cost of $150/person.

ABOUT THE ROOSEVELT:

The Roosevelt, once the haunt for the 1940s glitterati and power brokers, has been restored to its former glory by the team that brought you Eau-de-Vie. The Potts Point venue has been re-opened as a cocktail bar and restaurant; a joint venture between Sven Almenning (of award-winning cocktail bar Eau-de-Vie) and Graham Ette.

Enter the main cocktail bar and be taken back to the time of old-world glamour. Classic cocktails, personable service played out to a backdrop of swinging jazz tunes. The room features dark, intimate deco-inspired décor, and a large wall/display cabinet that houses some of the most iconic cocktail shakers and equipment from the 1920s-1940s.
