Ladro Launches “Ladro Junior” Menu

Ladro, Melbourne’s beloved Italian restaurant feeding crowds an award-winning selection of rustic homemade style pizza, pasta and classic Italian dishes, has just launched a new menu specifically designed for kids. The choose-your-own-adventure style menu offers littlies the choice between pizza or pasta, bombolini (Italian doughnut on a stick!) or ice-cream for a teeny-weeny $12.50. With the introduction of Ladro’s junior menu comes new family-friendly pre-7pm booking.

The junior menu, true to Ladro’s philosophy, heroes Italian favourites, where only the best produce is used to create the best flavours. Ladro offers kids the option between Margherita (tomato, mozzarella, basil), salami (tomato, mozzarella, salami, basil), Boscaiola (fior di latte, porcini and field mushrooms, garlic, thyme and basil) or prosciutto crudo (tomato, mozzarella, parmigiano, prosciutto) to top their pizza or pasta.

The idea behind the Ladro junior menu is to offer kids an opportunity to wrap their lips around some real and delicious Italian food in a comfortable, child-friendly environment for a good ol’ fashioned price. The printed menu also doubles up as play time, with activities on the back and a handful of coloured pencils; keeping the young’uns busy as the chefs work their magic.

Co-owner Sean Kierce said, “With kids of our own we know what we like when dining out, it’s the freedom to relax knowing that the kids are welcome and looked after.” With generous sized portions the kids wont go home hungry, and there will be change left over for the big kids too.

Diners can be confident that Ladro’s friendly staff and their big smiles will welcome smaller diners and can ensure a smooth and quick service. High chairs are available on request and for those that are gluten intolerant, Ladro has it covered with a gluten free pizza base option at no extra cost.

Awarded with The Age Good Food Guide one hat seven years running, Ladro’s regular menu reads like an Italian trattoria with a slight twist. Whilst junior diners are busy eating, adults can choose from a hot selection of Italian favourites, such as Ladro’s house made pappadelle with rabbit ragout, white wine and cannelli beans; or pan-fried sustainable barramundi with porcini risotto and truffle oil, amongst a range of menu items. With only the best quality produce sourced for each dish from the junior and regular menu, Ladro remains true to the flavours from the kitchens of Italy.
