The Langham, Melbourne’s culinary diversity has been recognised at the 2012 Lifestyle FOOD channel’s I ♥ FOOD’ awards, with the hotel’s innovative Melba restaurant taking home the ‘Flavours of the World’ national award. The 2012 awards have been Australia’s biggest people’s choice restaurant awards to date, with over 134,000 votes registered in over 27 categories throughout January to March. Melba was previously a Victorian winner in the 2010 ‘I ♥ FOOD’ awards.
A favourite amongst locals and guests, Melba is known for its diverse range of international dishes. The enticing multicultural cuisines are showcased through the buffet and at the live cooking stations, from the freshly sliced sashimi and sushi at the Japanese stand to succulent five spice Asian duck and traditional roasts at the rotisserie station; and fiery wok-tossed South East Asian delights to exotic Indian feasts at the Tandoori ovens.
On weekdays, Melba also presents a daily ‘Flavours of the World’ special- showcasing and celebrating the international culinary offerings at the restaurant. The daily specials are part of Melba’s popular evening buffet.
Melba Monday – Oysters Kilpatrick (Ireland)
Oyster lovers will enjoy Monday evenings at Melba, when skilled chefs prepare an indulgent feast of Oysters Kilpatrick for diners.

Guests can add a little luxury to their Tuesday evenings with Lobster Mornay.
Melba Wednesday – Nineteen Naan’s (India)
Abhijit Lad, The Langham, Melbourne’s Indian kitchen chef de cuisine designed nineteen addictive flavours of sweet and savoury naan based on the tastes of restaurant guests. Spiced duck and hoisin sauce, lamb mince with dill and fenugreek, vine ripened tomato and cheese, coconut and sultana, M&Ms and white or dark chocolate are just some of the flavours guests can try on Wednesday evenings.
Melba Thursday – Tempura Prawns (Japan)
Fresh prawns are always a feature on Melba’s Seafood Altar, but on Thursday evenings they are prepared in a tasty Japanese-style tempura for guests.
