Wine-lovers head to Noosa International Food & Wine Festival May 2012

Australia’s best wines and winemakers headline at the Noosa International Food
& Wine Festival from May 17 to 20.  Whether you’re a wine tragic, amateur
tippler or serious wine connoisseur, there’s something to delight your palate and
passion.
Joining the impressive lineup of internationally applauded chefs is Master of Wine
Lisa Perotti-Brown, recognised authority on Australian wines and contributor to
Robert Parker’s prestigious global online newsletter. Lisa will preside over premium
old world and selected Australian wines matched to seven degustation courses at
the Qantas Best Dinner in the World. Lisa will also join Mike Bennie, Greg Duncan
Powell, Peter Forrestal, Ken Gargett and Tony Love at the Australian Wine on
the World Stage event, where guests are invited to taste wines and join in the
discussion.
This year the Village Wine Marquee serves as a communal talking spot for
Australia’s best wine maestros who will share their extensive wine knowledge each
day.
Sample wines professionally matched to the various quintessential Australian and
global Festival food experiences such as the Asian, Seafood and Hinterland Food
Trails; the French provincial and rustic Italian picnics- and many more of the special
dinners and Festival events.
Aaron Brasher, Andrew Fleming and Peter Forrestal explore six of the
greatest Australian chardonnays at the Wine Australia Landmark Chardonnay
Master Class while Mike Bennie and Jane Ferrari get in on the Wine Australia
Cabernet Sauvignon Master Class action.
The Festival also welcomes champagne experts Bernadette O’Shea and Julien
Marteau from G.H. MUMM with some exciting champagne tastings of both vintage
and non vintage champagnes. Over fifty wine kiosks will also serve up tastings
throughout each day of the four day Festival. Add another two hundred food and
wine personalities, media and producers plus big name entertainers and expect one
fantastic Festival celebrating the best in food, wine and fun.
